Simple steps toward the edge
Small strides forward
When people talk of sacrifice
They usually talk of things
That they can do without
I have learned most recently
That the only true sacrifice
Is giving away the things we need
The purpose of sacrifice
I have also discovered
Is not for our own survival
But for that of those we love
So surrender yourself
To those you hold dear
And you will find in the end
That all your sacrifices
Will enrich you more
Than all that you gave
And all that you gave
Will in turn find a way
To meet your needs
And provide more than
You ever wanted anyway
